Public & Environmental Health
Public Health: This area encompasses food safety, communicable disease protocols, swimming pool and beach protections, and pest management practices.
Environmental Management: This area encompasses hazardous materials and waste disposal and transportation, air and water quality protection, and chemical spill response.
Diving Safety: This area encompasses compliance requirements and safety procedures for all research and recreational diving activities at IU.
Research Safety
Biological Safety: This area encompasses use of biological materials in research, clinical and occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens, and animal care and use.
Laboratory Safety: This area encompasses laser safety and all aspects of safety for activities performed in a laboratory that do not involve biological or radioactive materials.
Occupational Safety & Health
Occupational Safety and Health: This area encompasses indoor air quality, personal protective equipment, hazard communication, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and employee safety outside of chemical laboratories.
Radiation Safety & Health Physics
Radiation Safety & Health Physics: This area encompasses use of radioactive materials in research, x-ray devices, particle accelerators, and medical applications involving radiation.
Abatement Compliance
Abatement Compliance: This area encompasses management of asbestos surveys and related abatement compliance.
